Bobtail Horse - Northern Cheyenne

Bobtail Horse 1850-1922

Bobtail Horse (VA'KOHE HAMEHE) was Born in 1850 in to the Northern Cheyenne tribe. He belonged to the war-society of Crooked Lances. He participated with honor in the battle of "Little Big Horn" in 1876: he was one of the first warrior to cross the river at "Medicine Tail Ford" and to open the fire against the left-avantgarde of E Company (Custer's Battalion), that had been observing the great village from the north. At the end of the battle he captured two grey horses; the E Company, commander by Lt. Algeron E. Smith was compound by fully grey horses. Bobtail Horse died in 1922.
