Little Hawk - Northern Cheyenne

Little Hawk 1848-?

Born in 1848 in to the Northern Cheyenne tribe, son of the important chief Gentle Horse. He belonged to the war-society of Crooked Lances. His Cheyenne name is AENOHESO and he was also called AIN'HUS (Young Hawk).
In September 1868 he took part in the battle of "Beecher Island"; the day before the battle, he and 7 others young warriors sighted the Major Forsyth's detachement, and captured them seven horses, but unfortunartely also signaled their presence to the military during that.
In 1869, shortly before the battle of "Summit Springs" he was hunting antelopes in the zone and saw the Pawnee scouts of Captain North to go at a gallop; unfortunately, his horse was too slow and he didn't manage to warn the village of chief Tall Bull.
Once again, he was in the group of warriors that at first discovered the General Crook's column on Tongue River in 9 June 1876;: so, they did warn the rest of the big village placed on Rosebud River, where a great battle took place in 17 June 1876.
He also fought at "Little Big Horn" and was among the very little Cheyenne's warriors that immediately reacted to Major Reno's attack.
In 1908, he told his reports of the battles he fought in to a famous writer George Bird Grinnell. Date of his death is unknown.
