Man On A Cloud 1852-1939

Man On A Cloud (WOHE WAH TO IS) was born in 1852 in to the Southern Cheyenne tribe, in South Dakota. In the same year as his major brother, Alights On A Cloud was killed in a fight by a Pawnee warrior.
His fathers name was Medicine Water and his mother was called a Killer Woman. He was married with a Cheyenne woman named Marble and he didn't have any children. In 1860 he led a war party in Texas where he took a Mexican child as an prisoner, he later adopted the same kid as his son. He made several trips to Washington to defense the rights of his people; in one occasion, in 1880, he was photographed together with Mad Wolf (sitting on right in the picture) by photographer John Choate. He was also a military scout, ranked as sergeant. He died in 20 July 1939.
